Exhibit Hall Stages

ALA offers exhibitors several opportunities to participate in on-site events during the Midwinter Meeting furthering promotional opportunities for your authors and organization. Your participation in these programs is promoted on the Midwinter Meeting website, in Cognotes - the official show daily, in the final program book, in social media, and in on-site signage. Detailed descriptions can also be listed in the Online Scheduler.

Stages and submissions include the Book Buzz Theater, What’s Cooking @ ALA Stage, PopTop Stage, and Now Showing @ ALA Film Program. 

The stage submissions are at no cost; however, submission does not guarantee a time slot. Submissions are reviewed and all submissions will be notified once the final schedules have been confirmed.

BOOK BUZZ THEATER

Highlights the latest "Buzz" about the newest titles from the hottest publishers all in one easy-to-find location on the Exhibit Hall Floor. Time slots are on a first come first served basis.What’s included…

  • Basic audio visual (laptop, Projector, Screen, and up to 2 microphones) are included with the fee. Any additional AV items or internet will be at your own cost. 
  • All sessions will be video recorded, synchronized, edited and included on the post-show recordings website. Participating publishers and full-registered attendees will have access to this site at no charge.
  • You can host this on your own or partner with other publishers and share the cost. Please note that you are responsible for the partnering.
  • “Book Buzz” theater schedules will be promoted on the Midwinter Meeting website, in Cognotes, the official show daily, in the final program book, on social media, signage in the registration area and entrance to the Book Buzz Theater. Detailed descriptions will also be listed on the Online Scheduler.
  • All time slots are $600 and will include theater set-up,  A/V listed above, access to the video recordings, promotion and signage.

Submissions will open October 18.

 

WHAT'S COOKING @ ALA STAGE

Located on the Exhibit Floor, the What’s Cooking @ ALA Stage offers chefs, restaurant owners and food personalities an opportunity to prepare the hottest recipes, share their cooking secrets and autograph their latest books. Time slots are 50 minutes including Q&A and generally consist of a 30-minute cooking demonstration and education followed by a 20-minute signing/sampling.

THE POPTOP STAGE - POPULAR TOPICS, EVERY DAY

The PopTop Stage, located on the Exhibit Floor, will focus on popular librarian favorites including: Mystery, Romance, Audio, Science Fiction and other topics of interest. The PopTop Stage will feature readings, discussions, and presentations over the course of the exhibits. Time slots are 50 minutes including any Q&A, and generally consist of a 30-minute reading, discussion, or presentation and a 20-minute signing.
